I just went through my old picture files stored in flash disc.
There, I found these cute pictures of my niece and nephew whose been separated from our family for almost 2 years. Why? Because my bro and her ex-wife got divorced. So, the children were taken care by their mum whose already got married again and right now they’re staying in Bali. We just lost contact with them afterwards.
The boy called Aji and the girl called Ophel. These pictures were taken on March or April 2003. Aji was almost 6 years old and Ophel 18 months. I was single then (hehe… single but not available)
Do you see any resemble between Ophel and Dira (my gal)? Hehe, if you find any, then it was because I kept acting like ‘an old auntie’ to her during my pregnancy. Not a naughty girl actually, but she was so curious upon everything. And a little bit talkative… just like my gal now.
Anyway, I really really miss them alot. Last time I met them was last year when their father got the permission to take them spent 2 nights in my mum’s house. They were so different in persons.
Aji was a sensitive-quiet but funny-cheerful person and when we met at that time he became even more quiet. He was also becoming taller (taller than me on his age of 11) and slimming. While Ophel, a cheerful, funny and talkative person remained the same, only that she was skinnier than ever. And if I may say, it seems something was taken away from them because of the divorce.
*sigh*
Guys! Your auntie here misses you alot.
I thought that you will be good cousins to my gal Dira, but you both were only there for a year to watch Dira grew up.
Remember the time when your auntie brought Dira home? You were saying, “Ini anaknya Tante Uke yah?”
“Indira kok nangis terus?”
“Kok Indira minta nenen terus?”
“Tante Uke! Indira bangun tuh!”
“Tante Uke! Aku mau gendong Indira boleh gak?”
“Tante Uke lagi ngapain? Indiranya tidur yah?”
And so on! So many questions you asked to me during my rest 1.5-month maternity leave.
*sigh again*
When can I meet you again guys? Now that tears are running down through my cheeks.
I really hope that you miss me too. Although I might be not a good auntie for you back then.
I really hope that both of you will be taken care by your mum just like the way your grandma taken care of you for more than 5 years.
Love you both alot…
-Auntie Uke-
